What we did on our Holidays - part 1 - Perth

Just back from 3weeks away in Melbourne and Perth visiting family - it was a MEGA Christmas.
The 2 Simply cousins, Audrey and Violetta came to Perth with us.
Do you think all these pressies are for us?
We stayed at a cheap hotel which is about to be renovated.  This is a shame in a way because I doubt that they'll replace the vintage bottle opener fitted to the wall in the bathroom ...
And, sorry, I know we shouldn't mention such things, but why do hotels & motels do this to the toilet paper?

I do admire the skill and care that goes into folding toilet paper into neat points but ...

The hotel in Perth went one better - the tissues were pointy too!

The girls decided to stay on the shelf - it was just their cup of tea!

They also did plenty of exploring - mostly in Kings Park
Indiana Audrey

They found old trees with wonderful dolly-sized hollows in them

Dollies debating what living in a tree hollow would be like

And trees with lovely colours

Also wonderfully coloured birds ...
Rainbow Lorikeet

Pink & Grey Galah (Cacatua roseicapilla)

Finally here is a view of the Swan River with the old brewery in the foreground - this was taken from the Tree-Top Walk in Kings Park which is not recommended for folk who get vertigo!
It was a typically hot Perth day - but with wonderful clouds - Cirrus (I think?).

The Blythe Dolls have a New Sofa

Lillian & Audrey have been busy dictating another post on their holiday blog.

They are now relaxing with a well deserved cuppa and enjoying their lovely new sofa.

It's a perfect colour and very comfy!

Just touching base

Yes - a long silence from me.  Mostly because I was overseas on holiday  :-)

Yes - it was lovely, 5 weeks in Europe in the Spring ... 5days in Brussels, the rest in France - just gorgeous and I still want to hop on the next plane and go back there.  The Food!   The lifestyle!  Very Big Sigh

I took my 2 Blythe Dolls (yes, quite silly I know, 2nd childhood etc)  but ... if you'd like to see photos etc of our journey I'm doing a blog for the "traveling Blythes" (as my poor suffering hubby called them).

Blythe Dolls' Bon Voyage

Well, back in the real world - the knitting commissions have been coming thick & fast - will post as soon as I can.

Going Interstate

A short post because I'm busy sorting things out and packing; we are going interstate tomorrow to visit relies and will be away for 11 days.

I'll have to put my on-line shops On Vacation and I'll be missing far-too-many Millinery classes but I'm looking forward to seeing some of the family AND I'll be taking lots of knitting projects. When I travel, my suitcase is usually half full of knitting yarns, patterns and needles ... have this fear of running out of things to make!

Have also been doing some finishing :-) this wee dress / top is for a friend's baby girl.
